Q: Do you replace my existing sliding glass door?
A: No, we retrofit your existing door with hardware that will make it self-closing and self-latching.
Q: Can you install a SlideRight unit on any sliding glass door?
A: Before beginning installation, we will asses the door to determine if our unit can be installed. Occasionally there are conditions that prevent us from installing, but in most cases we can install on the majority of sliding glass doors.
Q: Do I need to install a safety fence or pool net if I use have a SlideRight door closer?
A: While we believe that security and safety comes in layers, the SlideRight door closing system does satisfy the Florida Residential Swimming Pool Safety Act as a pool safety feature option by itself. Additional safety devices will add extra protection for your pool, and you should have as many layers as required to give you peace of mind that your friends and family are safe. You should contact your local code enforcement office for any additional pool barrier requirements in your area.
Q: What if I have a standard hinged service door or French doors that also provide access to my pool?
A: We can also install the hardware required to make standard hinged service doors or French doors self-closing and self-latching as required by local pool barrier codes.
Q: What if I don’t have a pool – why would I need SlideRight?
A: If you have kids or guests that continually leave your sliding glass doors open, you are wasting money by letting your heated or cooled air escape outside. You can benefit from the energy efficiency provided by having a SlideRight unit installed on your sliding glass doors. The self-closing mechanism can be installed without the self-latching mechanism if you do not need to conform to pool barrier code.
